Navalmoral de la Mata , it is a city located in the North of Extremadura, in the District of The Campo Arañuelo to 180 Km of the Capital from Spain, and it has a very important communications net.

The population this is about at 17.000 inhabitants and their extension is 160,75 Km²

It is an earth of soft waves whose altitude oscillates between the 300 and the 400m.

The Plain is a wide platform, lightly inclined toward the northwest, constituted by alluviums tertiary of sands and clays of miocene and oligocene.

The courses of water are rare, making two basins divided by the alignments of the southern hills, being the widest the one which pours in the Tiétar and very short the of the streams that flow in the Tajo.

Respect to the thermal oscillations are very accused, the weather is typically continental with a maximal hose of 42,5º (July-August) and minimal 1,25º (January).

The name of "Navalmoral" it is a compound name (Nava-l-moral), that originally could be Nava of the Moral and for apocopation was converted in Navalmoral.

"Nava" it has a clear topographical meaning, that means flat land and with frequency swampy.

It in the case of Navalmoral de la Mata, according to old documents, it appear fixed already the name from the XVI century, appearing the apellative of the " la Mata" starting from the XVII, upon conceding the title of village to the "Concejo de la Mata" , one of whose places were Navalmoral.
